Emmett and Bowen Tecnique

The Emmett technique is a unique body therapy created by
Ross Emmett of Queensland, Australia. It is a technique which has
been shown to ease pain and discomfort, increase movement and
improve quality of life.

How does it work?
The Emmett Technique involves the application of light finger
pressure at specific points on the body. In a similar way to the
workings of a touch-screen the body responds to this light touch bychanging muscle tension and action.

The Bowen Technique.
Thomas Ambrose Bowen of Geelong, Australia, developed a gentle,
subtle and relaxing hands-on treatment.
How does it work?
The practitioner uses thumbs or fingers to make a series of precise rolling - type moves over muscle. During the treatment there are a
series of short breaks where the patient is left resting to allow
their body to respond to the gentle moves that have been performed. This is an important part of the treatment and gives the body time to make the subtle and fine adjustments which help to re-balance
the body, relieve tension and reduce pain.

The Emmett Technique and The Bowen Technique may be done while you are fully clothed, although some garments may need to be removed orloosened.

Case History.J. from Bedar.'I had a lot of pain in my hip and had
to use a walking stick to get about. I was having to use strong
painkillers, was unable to sleep and had breathing and digestive
problems.
Our Practitioner at "Oceanic Therapies" was recommended
to me for the Emmett and Bowen Technique by friends who were very
pleased with their own treatments. After one treatment there was a noticeable improvement in all aspects. After a further four
treatments I did not need to use my stick any more and my general
health had improved significantly. A.G. qualified as a Bowen
practitioner 18 years ago and more recently attended an advanced
workshop with Ross Emmett in Belfast.
